My Teaching Philosophy
Students learn from experiencing. Experiencing leads to wondering, which leads to questions. Questions lead to answers, which leads to learning. Students learn through modeling. Students learn by example. Students learn by doing and exploring. Students learn by making mistakes. There is always an opportunity to learn.
I believe in reciprocity. Students learn from their teachers and teachers learn from their students. You will get out, what you are willing to put in. Care for and respect your students and your students will respect and care for you. A caring classroom community is key for setting up a positive learning environment, which is necessary for success. Smiles and laughter are essential.
Every student should have the opportunity to succeed. I make this possible by using differentiation, accommodation, and collaboration. I will also teach my students to appreciate what they already know and thrive to know more. I believe that setting high expectations is imperative in order to be an effective teacher. Expectations should be explicit, attainable, and realistic.
Ten words that fuel my teaching: Inspire, creativity, enthusiasm, motivation, organization, memorability, passion, responsibility, growing, and love.
Knowledge has no limits. Learning never stops.
